Dunk Champion was Crowned Long Ago

Disclaimer: This could turn out to be my lamest (and shortest) blog of all time. I have but one point to make.

This Saturday night various thugs will meet in Phoenix to participate in the annual NBA dunk contest. I find this event comical because not a single one of these choreographed, daily practiced dunks can ever match the one that happened nine years ago in the course of an actual game during the Summer Olympics.

Behold, the greatest of all dunks.

The shock on KG's face says it all.

I have a few words prepared for the group of bums participating in this year's dunk competition. Come Saturday night one of you will be crowned dunk king, but until that person jumps over and dunks on a 7 foot, 2 inch, french giant, you are nothing compared to Vince Carter.

By the way, if you've ever wondered why France hates the United States, this is why.

  1. That is without doubt the greatest in game dunk of all time. I wonder if france 15 gets asked how Vince's package felt bouncing off his head... Anyway, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for bringing this video back. It is one that everyone needs to watch on a regular basis, and gives me chills. As far as the 'dunk contest', that has become a joke and a circus show, and makes you laugh for the wrong reason, where you can get a 10 on a lame dunk that takes you 14 tries, and then do a two handed dunk on a 12 foot hoop... If your 7 feet tall with a reach of probably close to ten, and can obviously at least get off the ground, that dunk makes me embarrassed for him and the judges who awarded it a point at all. That contest has become a sham, a joke, and should have its name changed as it should in no way be related to the dunks and dunkers of old. Vince is the greatest dunker of all time. The end.
